The first time a tiny food-shaped statue catches your eye at the roadside, it's easy to laugh and keep driving. Don't. Mascots in Forza Horizon 6 are small collectibles spread across Japan, and they're worth more than a quick screenshot. Each one adds to your collection progress, helps with Stamp Level growth, and can push you closer to useful rewards, including FH6 Credits that make new cars and upgrades a bit easier to grab.
How Mascots Work
Mascots are simple by design. You find one, aim your car at it, and drive through it. That's it. No tricky menu, no long challenge, no perfect racing line. The game records it straight away, so you can carry on cruising. What makes them fun is where they turn up. Some sit near towns, shops, and tourist spots. Others are tucked away near back roads, shrines, fields, bridges, or places you'd probably miss if you only jumped from race to race.
What You'll Be Looking For
The Mascots are based on Japanese food and culture, which gives the hunt a bit of character. You'll see designs inspired by Omurice, Dango, Onigiri, and Ramen, along with several other styles across the full set of nine types. They're bright enough to notice, but not always placed right in front of you. The Onigiri ones are easy to pick out thanks to their shape, while Ramen and Omurice designs tend to feel at home around busier districts. Dango Mascots often suit parks, festival areas, and quieter cultural corners.
Better Ways to Hunt Them
The worst way to collect Mascots is to blast around at top speed and hope for the best. You'll miss loads. Slow down when you enter villages, city blocks, car parks, scenic stops, and narrow mountain roads. Use fast travel once you've unlocked enough points, then sweep each region in chunks instead of jumping all over the map. It's also smart to mix Mascot hunting with other jobs. Photo challenges, story routes, drift zones, and PR stunts often send you through places where collectibles are hiding nearby.
Why They're Worth Your Time
Plenty of players chase leaderboards first, and that's fair. Still, Mascots give you a different reason to enjoy the map. They turn a normal drive into a little search, and you'll often end up finding bonus boards, viewpoints, and roads you didn't know were there. For completionists, they're an obvious target. For casual players, they're a nice way to earn extra progress without sweating over lap times. The rewards won't replace racing, but they do stack up over time.
Final Thoughts
Mascot collecting works because it doesn't ask much from you. Just pay attention, take the odd detour, and don't ignore the weird little figures near the road. If you're building a garage, chasing stamps, or trying to save before you buy FH6 Credits for bigger plans, hunting these collectibles is a relaxed way to make progress while seeing more of Japan's open world.
